The teacher companion to Spanish 2B — Memories, Well-Being and Community (California), the second semester of second-level Spanish built on the California World Languages Standards (2019) for UC A-G area E. The course targets ACTFL Intermediate Low and is taught mostly in Spanish. It covers the imperfect and its contrast with the preterite, direct and indirect object pronouns, commands and comparisons, and an introduction to the present subjunctive with wishes and emotions.
Review notice: every Spanish string in the student course and in this guide was machine-authored by SLS and carries the status pending native-speaker review. A native or heritage speaker of Spanish must review the course before students use it. Module 1 explains what that review covers and how to record it.
Module 1 covers the semester as a whole: how the course meets the standards and A-G, teaching the big grammar contrasts in Spanish and for communication, pacing and what to cut, and access, heritage speakers, sensitive health topics, tools and integrity. Modules 2-5 take one student unit each: a briefing, a facilitation module for the conversation lab and the presentational workshop, and a scoring module for the Integrated Performance Assessment with synthetic student work at three bands.
