English 10A — Justice, Conscience and the Law is the first semester of a two-semester, college-preparatory Grade 10 English course aligned to the California Common Core State Standards and built to UC A-G Subject Area B expectations.
Four units: Antigone (law, conscience and tragic structure), Frankenstein (creation, responsibility and the nested narrative), The Rhetoric of Resistance (Thoreau, Seneca Falls, Susan B. Anthony, Emmeline Pankhurst), and Synthesis (a researched argument drawing the semester together).
