English 10B — Power, Voice and Change is the second semester of a two-semester, college-preparatory Grade 10 English course aligned to the California Common Core State Standards and built to UC A-G Subject Area B expectations.
Four units: Julius Caesar (power, persuasion and dramatic structure), Poems of Protest and Change (from Shelley and Lazarus to Dunbar, Owen, Cullen and Hughes), Liberty in Crisis (four seminal presidential addresses), and The Story of My Life (Helen Keller’s memoir and the year’s capstone).
