The teacher companion to Personal Finance — Money, Choices and Independence (California), the stand-alone one-semester course built to meet California’s personal finance graduation requirement (AB 2927; Education Code 51225.3 and 51284.5).
Module 1 covers the course as a whole: what the statute requires and how the course meets it, the annual update routine for figures that change every year, teaching money without assuming anything about students’ family finances, and the product-neutrality rule that keeps the course from selling anything. Modules 2-5 take one student unit each: a briefing on what students produce and where the misconceptions are, a facilitation module for the numeracy and decision labs, and a scoring module with synthetic student work at different bands and the feedback that moves each.
The course was adapted from the JAG-MO Missouri Personal Finance course Sejal Learning Solutions built for gbclearn.com. If you taught that course, Module 1.1 lists what changed for California.
