present a finished museum exhibit panel that explains the start of the French and Indian War from one point of view.
Showcase: The Culminating Project
Do Now. Read your draft panel out loud to yourself once before you finish it. Does it sound like your chosen person, in their own words?
Today you finish and share your museum exhibit panel. A real museum visitor at Fort Necessity National Battlefield should be able to read your panel and understand: who you chose, why the Ohio Country mattered to them, and what happened in 1754 from their point of view.
Finish your exhibit panel and add a short “docent script” — two or three sentences you would say out loud if you were a museum guide explaining your panel to visitors.
| Criterion | What proficient looks like |
|---|---|
| Point of view | The panel is told clearly from one chosen person’s point of view. |
| Accuracy | The events described (road-building mission, Jumonville Glen, Fort Necessity, the surrender) match what really happened. |
| Docent script | The spoken script explains the panel in the student’s own words, out loud. |
