Geometry B is the second semester of a full-year, UC A-G area C Geometry course aligned to the California Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and the Standards for Mathematical Practice.
Four units: Solid Geometry and Modeling, Coordinate Geometry, Circles and Conditional Probability. Students argue for volume formulas, design a package that minimizes material, prove theorems with coordinates, derive the equations of circles and parabolas, prove circle theorems and derive radian measure, and use probability to analyze decisions and design fair procedures.
Tools: GeoGebra Geometry, 3D and Graphing, CODAP and Desmos (all free), a compass and straightedge, and a scientific calculator. No purchased software is required.
