The teacher companion to Advanced Studio Art Honors B — Illusion, Landscape, Message and the Sustained Investigation (California), the second semester of a full-year honors studio course for grades 10-12 built on the California Arts Standards for Visual Arts at the Accomplished and Advanced levels and modeled on The VR School’s approved UC record WE2HBX (area F, Visual Arts).
Module 1 covers the semester as a whole: how it completes the standards, the record and the honors expectations; supervising a self-directed sustained investigation; studio safety, materials and pacing; and access, sensitive content and public exhibition. Modules 2-5 take one student unit each: a briefing, a facilitation lesson for the critique lab and the production workshop, and a scoring lesson with synthetic student work at three levels and the feedback that moves each.
