The teacher companion to English 9A — Foundations of Narrative, Rhetoric and Argument. It is a separate course, not a hidden section of the student course, so you can work through it before a roster exists — and so nothing teacher-facing is ever one permissions bug away from a student.
Module 1 covers the course as a whole: why every unit has the same five parts, what a UC A-G analyst is actually reading for, how to answer a district standards audit without building a spreadsheet, the 16-week pacing calendar and what to cut when you lose a week, and the access, alternative-pathway and academic-integrity decisions that are already built into the student lessons.
Modules 2-5 take one student unit each. For every unit you get a briefing (what students produce, where the standards land, and the misreadings of the anchor text that come up every year), a facilitation module (the seminar protocol and the writing-workshop moves, including what to do when a discussion dies), and a scoring module with real student responses at different levels, what a scorer sees in each, and the feedback that moves that particular student up a band.
Every printable in the student workbook is attached here too, so you can hand out the graphic organizers without opening the student course.
